Logee's Tropical Plant Field Trip

Logee's Tropical Plant Field Trip

I am currently about to catch up on two episodes of How To Get Away With Murder but had to take a quick pause to write about about today. So any one who knows my mom knows that she LOVESSSS plants and gardening more than ANYTHING (other than her grand kids of course haha). She heard about this tropical plant nursery, Logees, in Connecticut a couple weeks ago and really wanted to go. She told my sister and I so we planned a little field trip there with the boys! It really was so much fun! We packed up the car for a little day trip & my mom  squished herself in the back with the boys and they were so happy about that haha. The ride there was less than two hours. We left around nap time so the boys slept on the ride there.

When we got there, it was basically a greenhouse that had a large variety of tropical plants, and even more tropical uniqueness outdoors. My mom was basically on cloud 9, especially since her grandbabies were there. Lincoln was so amazed at everything he saw! He seriously had a blast. There was this one tree that was grafted so it produced many different fruits on this one tree! I would love to own one just like it someday! There were lemons that were so large, and so many sweet smelling plants,  my favorite plant was called the "Golden Trumpet". I wish I took a better picture of the whole thing, my mom bought one. It is a tree that had such beautiful branches of golden yellow flowers, the vines were intertwined and had traveled around the greenhouse! Just Beautiful! It can live indoors and I just think that is so awesome to have something like that indoors like that.

I know these aren't the best quality photos but honestly I don't think it would have mattered otherwise because two little boys are NOT easy to photograph LOL. It was so hard to get a picture of the both of them smiling at the same time, they were getting distracted by everything around them, it was sweet. We tried to take a few group selfies and it was too much fun trying to accomplish that... as you can tell, we failed at every attempt :p

When we were getting ready to make our purchase we stumbled across a little container that had "Miracle Fruit" in it. One of the employees told us that this fruit had properties to change the taste of different food. It was supposed to change tastes from sweet to sour, vice versa! So naturally I really wanted to try it! My sister bought some for Stephen and I (cause she da best!). After a nice sushi dinner we ate one each and then went to try to eat a lemon, MAN OH MAN!!!! It was seriously the sweetest tasting lemon ever! It was soooo delicious, it made the lemon taste like candy! We were so surprised it worked! My mom heard us talking so much about it that she also wanted to try it and she was AMAZED & SHOCKED! I want to invest in a lifetime supply just so I can eat more sweet lemons haha, They were seriously that delicious!
